Ceramic Candle Vessel Workshop at Day & Night Gallery

Hosted during Fourth Friday Art Soirée
Duration: 2.5 hours | All materials included

Join us for a handbuilding workshop to celebrate the season of light during the Fourth Friday Art Soirée at Day & Night Gallery. This time of year holds rich meaning across many cultures — a time for reflection, warmth, and connection. Together, we’ll honor those themes through clay, creating one-of-a-kind candle vessels and candelabras designed to hold light, hope, and intention.

Participants will be guided through handbuilding techniques to create either:

  • a ceramic candle vessel, which will later be hand-poured with wax (choose from unscented or a calming essential oil blend)

  • a candelabra, perfect for taper candles and holiday tablescapes.

You’ll also be able to choose your finishing details — keeping your piece raw and organic, or glazing it in clear, white, black, or a soft satin sheen. Underglazes will be available for those who wish to add color or pattern.

No prior clay experience is required. All materials, firing, and candle pouring are included. Finished pieces will be available for pickup 3–4 weeks after the workshop.

If class cost is a barrier, sliding scale and sponsored spots are available to keep this experience open to the community. Space is limited, so we encourage early registration.

Because this class takes place during the public Art Soirée, guests and community members will be present in the gallery space. The workshop area will be intentionally limited in size to maintain a relaxing, hands-on environment for participants.
